Dog-Friendly Beaches:
For the safety of the beachgoers and marine wildlife ecology, most Anna Maria Island beaches do not allow dogs. Do not be discouraged, there are some parks and waterfront areas nearby to take your furry friends on an adventure.
Palma Sola Causeway is less than a 10 minute drive from Anna Maria Island. This is a mile long stretch of beaches between Bradenton and Anna Maria Island and is a perfect area to let your pup explore. This beach is close to the causeway, so make sure your pets recall skills are perfected in order to keep them safe on this vacation adventure.
A great place to take your dog to run off some energy is the Holmes Beach Dog Park! Located on the corner of 62nd St and Flotilla Dr, this spacious and grassy dog park has separate areas for furry friends of all sizes and personalities.
Happy Tails Dog Park is also a great spot to take your dogs for some exercise during your vacation on Anna Maria Island! Located just over the bridge in Bradenton, (2811 51st St W) this dog park has different areas for your dog to run around in based on their size. Enjoy picnic tables and walking trails under shady tree canopies.
